Fairfield expectations high for Volta ao Porto

Written by Fairfield Flyers Cycling at 17:56 17/1-2010

Fairfield is very excited over its prospects in the Volta ao Porto now that the enrollment list is final. Manager Aurelien Windenberger has put together his best squad ever for a Tour, with no less then 3 riders he feels could potentially win in Aurelio Bunuel, Elroy Vickers, and new captain Vernon Kings. "I expect all three to finish in the top ten, as they all have the required mix of climbing and TT skills needed to succeed in this tour," the manager explains. "We would love to land at least one podium spot, but there are some other excellent riders including Jimmy Waller (Velo Club Bored Man), Yasunari Yamauchi(Gradient Levellers), and Sven-Olof Dahlström (Bajen Wannabies) which should be in the running for those coveted poduim spots."

The manager continued to explain that squad hopes that this Tour will begin a successful string of results which will take the team into the top-20 in time for the Germany Tour later in the season. Elroy Vickers explains: "We had so much success the last time we were able to participate 3 years ago that we are really hoping to produce enough results to be there again. I would love to have another shot at winning a stage and Aurelio and the Kingman (Vernon Kings) would love to take a shot at the overall title!"

For now though the team will keep planning for Volta ao Porto with a couple warm-up race in Italy.

LOL well Shiable looks like he will be very strong competition for my guys. I just hope that his lack of TT abilities keeps him behind us in the overall.

I think having 3 potential winners is a little excesive if not greedy, would It be possible to borrow one.
  Good Luck :)
